Railways carry 593.25 mt of freight in Apr-Oct, 2013

November 19: The Indian Railways carried 593.25 million tons (mt) of revenue-earning freight traffic during April-October 2013, a government release said.

The freight carried shows an increase of 27.98 mt over the freight traffic of 565.27 mt actually carried during the corresponding period last year, recording an increase of 6.77%.

During the month of October 2013, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways stood at 82.25 mt, the release added.
