November 5: Rake arability at Paradip Port for transporting coal has improved in the last two-three weeks, an official from the port told ICMW.
“Evacuation of imported coal has improved as Railways has started to allot more rakes and thus imported coal stocks at the port are clearing out,” he said
However, according to data available with ICMW, in the last four weeks, though coking coal stocks at the port are gradually depleting, steam coal stocks have increased.
According to the data, the port’s coking coal stocks as on October 31, stood at 1.090 million tons (mt), down 17.73% compare to 1.325 mt recorded as on October 10 while steam coal stocks increased 42.69% to 1.484 mt as on October 31 against 1.040 mt recorded on October 10.
