Reliance Power lights up boiler for 4th unit of Sasan UMPP

April 10: Reliance Power Ltd said on April 9 that it has achieved boiler light up in the 4th unit (660 MW) of 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP).
With this, the total capacity of Sasan reached nearly 2,700 MW, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Earlier, the third unit of Sasan UMPP started operation in March. “First three 660 MW units of the project comprising 50% of the capacity are already operating. The balanced two units are in advanced stages of construction,” the company statement said.
The company has also started producing coal for the project from Moher and MohAmlohri blocks which have a peak rated capacity of 20 million tons.
