Renewables provide investment opportunity of $110 bn: Goyal

 November 25: The five-fold increase in targets for renewable energy production would provide an investment opportunity of $110 billion, according to Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy.

 “Targets of renewable energy have been scaled up to five times and at present provide opportunity for $110 billion investments,” the minister said during the 95th annual event of ASSOCHAM in Delhi on November 24.

 We are not only going to achieve renewable energy targets by 2022, but are going to achieve it with grid parity,” he said.

According to the minister, energy efficiency is one of the “biggest achievements” of the present government.
