RfP for Cheyyur UMPP scheduled for December 22

November 26: The submission date of the request for proposal (RfP) for the Cheyyur ultra mega power project (UMPP) has been scheduled on December 22, 2014, a government official said.

The request for qualification (RfQ) for the UMPP in Tamil Nadu was issued on September 9, 2013 and RfP was issued on December 27, 2013 to qualified bidders, the official added.

The RfQ was issued on revised standard bidding documents (SBDs) and some qualified bidders had sought extension, citing reasons that due diligence is taking significantly more time than envisaged due to factors like the size, complexity, number of variables involved and nature of the project, the official said.
