S Chakravarty to be the new CMD of ECL

November 7: S Chakravarty is set to become next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India Ltd (CIL) subsidiary Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL), following a recommendation to this effect by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).

Chakravarty, who is currently working as Director, Technical with ECL, was selected from a panel of 13 interviewees and will replace Rakesh Sinha, who retires next year.

The other candidates interviewed by the PESB for the job were C B Sood (ED, CIL), R N Jha (Director-Technical, MECL), Shekhar Sharan (Director-Technical, CMPDIL), K S Patro (Director-Personnel, ECL), V K Sinha (Director-Technical, CMPDIL), B R Reddy (Director-Technical, ECL), Jitendra Singh (CGM, MCL), R C Sanodia (CGM, WCL), A K Singh (GM, WCL) J L Singh (GM, CCL), Devendra Prasad (GM, CIL), B B Singh (Director-Commercial, MSTC).
