April 1: Spot price of South African and Australian steam coal, on March 31, firmed up a bit on the back of a slight improvement in Indian buying and fears of continued supply disturbance from Drummond mines in Columbia, industry sources said.
Indonesian prices remained unchanged because of a holiday in that country even as Indian companies are believed to be looking to stock up on the material for the coming monsoon season, they added.
