SA coal exports to Atlantic countries up 8.58% in June m-o-m

July 9: Imports of coal from South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) by Atlantic countries rose 8.58% in June 2014 compared to the volumes imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Exports through RBCT to Atlantic countries stood at 1,071,870 tons in June 2014 against 987,136 tons recorded during May 2014.

On the other hand, in June 2013, the export figure stood at 735,252 tons.

During the first six months (January-June) of 2014, total coal exports to Atlantic countries stood at 9,144,774 tons whereas the figure was at 8,988,537 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, during FY2013-14, total imports stood at 26,253,834 tons as compared to 26,064,273 tons imported during FY2012-13.
