December 13: The spot price of South African steam coal continued to rise on December 12 sixth day running despite not much change in overall market conditions, industry sources said.
"There is not much change in enquiry level from India and China for South African spot cargo, but prices are rising without any reason," they felt.
Australian steam coal prices remained unchanged during the day, while higher grades of Indonesian coal prices inched up by $0.25 per ton.
