Imports of coal from South Africa’s (SA’s) Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) by Atlantic countries, were down by 41.87% to 12,202,530 tons during fiscal 2015-16, compared to 20,991,969 tons recorded in the previous fiscal, according to data available with ICMW.
Similarly, imports of coal from RBCT by Atlantic countries were down 6.19% on a month-on-month basis to 377,971 tons in March 2016 from 402,927 tons exported in February 2016.
Meanwhile, imports of coal from RBCT by Atlantic countries stood at 1,657,286 tons during Q4 (January-March, 2016) in fiscal 2015-16, down 65.66% as compared to 4,825,743 tons during Q4 of fiscal 2014-15.
Imports of coal from RBCT by Atlantic countries were down 51.11% in calendar 2015 (January-December) to 10,545,944 tons from 21,572,610 tons exported in calendar 2014.
Meanwhile, March 2016 imports showed a 70.83% drop year-on-year compared to 1,295,710 tons in March 2015.
