SCCL Adilabad commercial ops to start by May 30

Full-fledged commercial operations at the Adilabad thermal power station (TPS) of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) are expected to kick-start by May 30, 2016, a company source told ICMW.

“The TPS, with a total 1,200 MW capacity will start commercial operation by May 30,” the source said.

Towards this end, SCCL has already synchronised the first unit (600 MW) in March, but synchronisation of the second unit (600 MW) has been deferred from April to May, he said.

“The second unit’s (600 MW) synchronisation is expected by May 10,” he said.

Once the two units commence operation, the miner would start the groundwork for a third unit of 600 MW, the source said.
