SCCL asked to advance commissioning of Adilabad TPS

July 28: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) may have to advance the commissioning date for its first coal-powered power plant at Adilabad following requests from the newly-formed Telengana government, a senior company official told ICMW.

“As per the work schedule, we expect the project to be ready for commissioning by November 2015. But the state government wants us to advance the date by three-four months,” the official said.

The 2x600 MW coal-fired power plant at Adilabad is the first such project by SCCL and is estimated to cost around Rs 4,071 crore. The company had placed order on BHEL for supply and installation of the main plant package.

“Work is going on in full swing. However, we may have to readjust a few things so that the commissioning could be expedited as desired by the state government,” the official added.
