March 13: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is awaiting final clearance from the Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) for the much-delayed Adriyala underground coal project in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh.
"We are awaiting the final clearance from CCI. Once we get it, construction and masonry work will start at once," a company official told ICMW.
The Adriyala project will adopt underground shaft mining technology to flush out coal and will be the country's largest longwall installation. The project is aimed at extracting around 2.8 million tons of coal per annum.
