SCCL commercial output from Adilabad TPS by May

After a slight delay of three months, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is all set to commission the first unit of its much-awaited 2x600 MW thermal power station (TPS) in Adilabad district of Telengana by the end of this month, a company source told ICMW.

“The first unit is going to be commissioned in this month itself and the second unit in April,” the source said.

“Full-fledged commercial production from the first unit will start by the end of April, while the same from the second unit will commence by the end of May,” he further said.

Once the two units commence operation, the miner would start the groundwork for a third unit of 600 MW, the source said.

As per the original plan, the TPS was expected to complete synchronisation of its first unit by December 2015 and the second unit by February 2016. Full-fledged commercial operations are scheduled to start by March 2016.
