SCCL floats EoI for sale of lower grade coal

September 13: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has floated an expression of interest (EoI) inviting bids from power utilities for purchase of lower grade coal from its Koyagudam opencast-II mine.
According to the tender document, SCCL will offer 1.5 million tons (mt) of lower grade coal of the gross calorific value (GCV) of around 800 Kcal/kg.

The basic price of the lower grade coal is fixed at Rs 250/ton ex-mines (excluding taxes, levies, duties etc.). The net price with taxes and duties at mine would be around Rs 515 per ton.

Only independent power plants (IPPs), captive power plants (CPPs) and other power utilities are eligible to show interest in purchasing this lower grade coal.

The last date for submission of bids is September 20, 2013.
