SCCL floats contract mining NIT for PVK.5 Incline

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has floated a tender inviting bids from contract miners for production of 4.05 million tons (mt) of coal from PVK.5 Incline Mine in the Kothagudem area over a period of nine years.
“Completion period of the contract is 9 (nine) years from date of commencement of actual production work to complete the extraction of 40.50 lakh tons of coal reserves @ minimum 4.5 lakh tons per annum approximately,” the tender document said.
“The period of contract, unless extended, will be 10 years from the date of letter of
acceptance (LoA) or 9 years from the date of start of production of coal or till the
completion of extraction of 41.4 lakh tons of coal, whichever is earlier,” the document said.
As per the document, the extraction of coal is to be done on cost per ton basis by deploying “new and unused CM equipment package within 12 months from the date of letter of acceptance (LOA)”.
PVK-5 Incline is an operating mine in Kothagudem area at SCCL, having a mine area of 916.48 ha. It was started in 1952 as No-5 incline.
Earlier, two mechanised longwall units were introduced in 1996 in the top seam (Queen seam) and the mine was renamed Padmavathi Khani No-5 (PVK-No.5) Incline. At present, 5 Nos. of 912 Model LHDs are working in PVK.5 Incline.
The last date for submission of bids is April 27. The bid opening date is April 30.
