SCCL misses production target in October

November 5: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in October was at 4.24 million tons (mt), marginally below the monthly target of 4.91 mt, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

However, the October production figure exceeded 4.074 mt reported for September 2014, the data showed.

SCCL had achieved its production targets set for the past two months, ie, August and September, 2014.

The miner had reported production volumes of 3.82 mt in August, 3.65 mt in July, 3.71 mt in June, 3.72 mt in May and 2.37 mt in April.

During the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, SCCL’s total coal production stood at 25.584 mt, about 11.5% lower than the target of 28.928 mt set for the period.

The annual production target of SCCL for 2014-15 stands at 55 mt. In 2013-14, SCCL’s production stood at 50.47 mt.
