SCCL registers 18.5% growth in OBR in FY16

While clocking a record 15% growth in production in 2015-16 (FY16), Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has reported an equally impressive 18.5% growth in overburden removal (OBR), according to data available with ICMW.

Total OBR stood at 311.36 million cubic metres (mcm) in 2015-16, compared to 262.82 mcm in 2014-15, the data show.

This is the highest volume of OBR achieved by the company in one year.

However, while the company’s production growth exceeded that of Coal India Ltd (8.5%), in terms of OBR, the growth rate was below its peer.
