SCCL’s January output exceeds target 5%

February 3: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in January 2015 stood at 5.34 million tons (mt), about 5% higher than 5.082 mt produced in December, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Production in January was the highest monthly output so far this fiscal (2014-15). It also exceeded the target of 5.29 mt set for the month, the data shows.
Earlier, the miner had reported production volumes of 4.57 mt in November, 4.24 mt in October, 4.074 mt in September, 3.82 mt in August, 3.65 mt in July, 3.71 mt in June, 3.72 mt in May and 2.37 mt in April.
During the first 10 months (April-January) of 2014-15, SCCL’s total coal production stood at 40.576 mt, about 9.1% lower than the target of 44.659 mt set for the period.
The annual production target of SCCL for 2014-15 stands at 55 mt. In 2013-14, SCCL’s production stood at 50.47 mt.
