SCCL’s coal production at 3.71 mt in June

July 8: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in June 2014 was at 3.71 million tons (mt), which was about the same recorded in the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In May 2014, the company reported production of 3.72 mt, while in April 2014, this stood at 2.37 mt.

In June, production was lower than the monthly target of 4.01 mt.

On a year-on-year basis, the company’s coal production was up 6.12% compared to 3.496 mt achieved in the same month last year (June 2013).

During the first quarter (April-June) of 2014-15, SCCL’s total coal production stood at 9.8 mt, about 5.8% lower than 10.4 mt reported for the same quarter last year.

The annual production target of SCCL for 2014-15 stands at 55 mt. In 2013-14, SCCL’s production stood at 50.47 mt.
