SCCL’s coal production down 6% in Jan m-o-m

February 10: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) during January 2014 dropped 6% to 4.749 million tons (mt), compared to 5.053 mt produced during December 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

On a year-on-year basis, January production of SCCL was down 13%, compared to 5.46 mt recorded for the same month in the previous year.

SCCL’s January production was also below the target of 5.178 mt set for the period.

During the first 10 months (April-January) of the current financial year of 2013-14, total production by SCCL stood at 38.855 mt, against 43.265 mt produced during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

Production for the first 10 months of 2013-14 was also below the target of 44.465 mt.
