SCCL’s production down 5.11% y-o-y in FY’14

April 7: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) during 2013-14 fell 5.11% to 50.47 million tons (mt) compared to 53.19 mt in 2012-13, according to provisional data released by the company.

With this, the company’s coal production was the lowest since 2009-10.

For the month of March, 2014, the company’s production was up 34.07% to 6.65 mt compared to 4.96 mt produced in February, 2014. In January, the company’s production stood at 4.75 mt.

On a year-on-year basis too SCCL’s March 2014 production was 13.86% higher from 5.84 mt produced in the same period last year (March 2013).
