SCCL’s production up 1.92% in October m-o-m

December 19: Coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) during the month of October 2013 increased 1.92% to 4.03 mt compared to 3.96 mt produced during September 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

However, on a year-on-year basis, October production of SCCL dropped almost 8% from 4.38 mt in the same period last year (October 2012).

SCCL’s October production was slightly below the target of 4.808 mt set for the period.

During the first seven months (April-October) of the current financial year of 2013-14, total production by SCCL stood at 24.65 mt against 27.52 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year. Production for the first seven months of 2013-14 too was much below the target of 29.51 mt.
