SCCL’s production up 57% in May m-o-m

June 4: After a dramatic drop in April, coal production from the 49 mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) during the month of May 2014 surged 57% to 3.72 million tons (mt) compared to 2.37 mt in April 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
On a year-on-year basis, however, SCCL’s coal production was down 7% from 4.001 mt recorded in the same period last year (May 2013).
Also, SCCL’s May production was significantly lower than the monthly target of 4.424 mt set for the period. The annual production target of SCCL for 2014-15 stands at 55 mt.
In 2013-14, SCCL’s production stood at 50.47 mt.
