SCCL’s underground production to rise in FY15
17 Oct 2014
October 17: In contrast with the declining trend in underground (UG) production in the country, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is expected to see a growth of about 15% in UG output in 2014-15, according to a company official.
“We expect UG production to rise this year to around 12-13 million tons (mt) from 10.36 mt notched up last year,” the official told ICMW.
A major boost will come from the Adriyala longwall project which will commence commercial production from November, he said.
“However, it is still early to say what will be the incremental production from Adriyala this year, but it will definitely boost our UG production,” the official added.
SCCL suffered a drop in UG production to 10.36 mt in 2013-14 from 11.5 mt a year ago.
Overall, India’s UG production was down by almost 11% last year.
