SCCL to open two new UG projects in 2014

August 6: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is all set to open two new underground coal mine projects in 2014, a company source told ICMW.

“We are going to open two new projects shortly. These are Kondapuram UG Coal Mine Expansion Project at Manuguru and Kasipet 2 in Hyderabad district,” he said.

The mines are expected to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Telengana, K Chadrasekhar Rao, in August-September.

The Kondapuram project will have a peak production of 0.51 million tons per annum (mtpa) while Kasipet 2 will produce 0.47 mtpa, he added.

Currently, SCCL produces around 52 mt of coal annually from its 49 opencast and underground mines.
