SCCL workers to hold 3-day strike on CIL issue

September 13: Workers of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will hold a three-day strike on September 23-25, extending their support to the trade unions of Coal India Ltd (CIL) protesting against the government's decision to sell 5% stake in CIL.
"The workers at SCCL will also hold strikes during September 23-25, coinciding with the strike at CIL," union sources told ICMW.
The SCCL management, when contacted, said that only one union is taking active interest while the others are largely silent.
Meanwhile, CIL's unions are slated to hold a meeting with the company management on September 20, the sources said.
"We are going ahead with the strike. The meeting has little to do with the strike's decision," a senior leader said.
