SLC(L-T) urges SECL to sort out FSA issues with cement units by Feb

27 Dec 2013

December 27: The Standing Linkage Committee (Long-Term) under the Ministry of Coal (MoC) has urged South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) to sort out verification issues, which were delaying the signing of fuel supply agreements (FSAs) with various cement units, by February 2014.

In a recent meeting of the committee on December 20, A K Dubey, Chairperson of SLC(L-T) and Additional Secretary, MoC, advised SECL "to take a practical view on the problems expressed by the Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA) and to also complete the verification of documents and physical verification of plants by February 2014," a statement released by CMA said.

Earlier, the CMA had alleged that despite submission of all required documents, the matter was still pending with SECL.

"We in CMA are very confident that through the positive and helpful approach of SLC (LT) members, our long-pending issues would be resolved early. We now await communication from SECL to all concerned units for signing of FSAs," the statement said.
