STC yet to award 0.65-mt coal tender of BORL

The STC, which floated a tender in November on behalf of Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd (BORL) to procure 650,000 tons of low sulphur Indonesian coal, is yet to award the contract, a company source told ICMW.
“The aforementioned tender has not yet been awarded,” the source said on January 19.
He, however, did not cite any reason for the same.
The tender was floated in November and the last date for submission of offer was December 1, 2015. According to the tender document, delivery of the material is to be made between January 2016 and December 2016.
BORL, which operates a 6-million tons-per-annum refinery at Bina in Madhya Pradesh, was looking to procure coal with GCV (ARB) of 4,600 Kcal/kg (min), sulphur content (ADB) of 0.2% (max) and total moisture (ARB) of 28% (max).
