Sagar Cements railway siding to cut freight costs

Sagar Cements Ltd (SCL) has started operations in its railway siding project from March 15, as per an official release from the company. 

The company has a plant at Mattampally in the Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh. The project had been under implementation for quite some time.

The cement company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that after the project the freight would reduce significantly both in terms of raw material procurement and finished product handling.

The company is also expecting to expand the market once the railway siding operations start.
