Sept anthracite imports via Kolkata drop 54% m-o-m

October 24: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata declined 53.99% to 5,999 tons in September 2014 against 13,041 tons in August, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In September 2013, a volume of 1,008 tons had been imported.
Imports for the first six months of the current fiscal were at 102,063 tons against a volume of 50,662 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 160,858 tons for the entire financial year of 2013-14.

In September, imports consisted of 5,501 tons from Ukraine in a band of Rs 8,749 –Rs 10,919 ($143-179) per ton, while the balance 498 tons arrived in a band of Rs 22,239 – Rs 25,976 ($366-421) per ton.
In August, anthracite imports included 12,402 tons from Ukraine in a range of Rs 8,706 – Rs 10,882 ($143 – Rs 179) per ton and the balance 639 tons from China in a range of Rs 22,328 – Rs 25,258 ($368-408) per ton.
