Sept coal handling by 15 Indian ports down m-o-m

October 30: Total coal handling by 15 major and minor Indian ports in September 2014 fell by 1.23% compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 11,031,418 tons of coal was handled by the above ports during September 2014 as compared to 11,169,294 tons handled by the same number of ports in August 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (September 2013) total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 9,069,693 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2014-15 stood at 65,937,578 tons while the figure was at 65,490,265 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a compilation by ICMW.
