Sept met coke imports via Kolkata decline 27% m-o-m

October 24: Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata dropped 26.81% to 33,737 tons in September 2014 against a volume of 46,096 tons in August, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Met coke imports in September 2013 were at 17,346 tons.
Imports of the material for the first six months of the current fiscal of 2014-15 were thus at 293,126 tons against 309,705 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total met coke imports via Kolkata Port stood at 510,327 tons for the full financial year of 2013.

In September, imports consisted of 27,706 tons from China in a range of Rs 11,878 – Rs 15,591 ($195-256) per ton, 5,000 tons from Russia at a unit price of Rs 12,748 ($209), 989 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 15,473 ($253), 32 tons from Japan at 37,071 tons ($608)/ton and 10 tons from the UK at Rs 50,930 ($835)/ton.
In August, met coke imports comprised 31,664 tons from China in a band of Rs 11,878 – Rs 13,505 ($194-218) per ton, 10,000 tons from Russia in a band of Rs 12,633 – Rs 13,004 ($204-212) per ton, 4,400 tons from Ukraine at a unit price of Rs 13,743 ($222) while the balance 32 tons came from Japan at a unit price of Rs 38,073 ($616).
