Shaanxi Yulin Jan-Jul coal output down 3.1% on y-o-y

Yulin city, a major large-scale coal production base in northwestern China’s Shannxi province, produced a total 198.74 million tonnes of raw coal over January-July this year, down 3.1% year on year, data showed from the Yulin Bureau of Statistics on August 25.
The output of washed coal stood at 32.93 million tonnes during the same period, surging 71.2% from a year ago.
Yulin produced 31.5 million tonnes of raw coal in July, dipping 2.9% on year and down 3.53% on month; while the washed coal output in July was 6.73 million tonnes, surging 144.2% on year but down 38.31% on month, data showed.
During the same period, total output value in Yulin’s coal mining and washing industry fell 1.1% from the year prior to 72.16 billion yuan ($11.79 billion).
Presently, there are 267 coal mines at Yulin city, with 35 mines owned by the central and provincial governments and 232 owned by the lower-level governments.
Shenmu county, Fugu county and Yuyang region – three major production bases in Yulin – own 237 or 88.8% of the total mines.
