March 26: Spot prices of South African coal fell drastically on March 25 on reports of aggressive offerings that outweighed bidders, industry sources said.
"Although there seems to be continued interested from Indian companies for South African cargo, the offerings were much higher leading to sharp fall in prices," they added.
The prices of Australian steam coal too fell during the day on continued low interest evinced by Chinese companies, even as Indonesian prices remained largely unchanged, they added.
