Sharp fall in allotment of G9 grade in April e-auction

May 5: A sharp fall in the allotment of G9 grade coal (GCV ranging between 4,601-4,900 Kcal/kg) offered by CCL, a subsidiary of CIL, on the coaljunction e-auction platform was witnessed in April as realised prices nosedived.
A total of 241,200 tons of this grade of coal was offered in April of which 151,570 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 1,606 per ton.
However, a total of 464,080 tons of this grade of coal was offered in March of which 294,280 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,060 per ton.
In February 2015, a total of 2,40,000 tons of G9 grade coal was offered through coaljunction and 217,210 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,101/ton.
