Sharp fall in coking coal imports via Mundra in March

April 17: Coking coal imports through the port of Mundra fell sharply to 25,000 tons in March 2015 against 203,793 tons imported in February 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In March 2014, coking coal imports via the port stood at 204,620 tons.
In 2014-15, coking coal imports though the port stood at 1,115,871 tons, down 5.44% from 1,180,022 tons imported in the previous fiscal.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Mundra Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

In March 2015, the entire consignment came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,302-Rs 8,248 ($116-$131).
In February 2015, the entire volume of 203,793 tons came in from Australia at various prices.
