Sharp increase in Dec anthracite imports via Chennai m-o-m

January 28: Anthracite coal imports via Chennai Port increased sharply to 268 tons in December 2014 from 116 tons in November, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In December, 267 tons arrived from China at a price range of Rs 20,017-Rs 25,787 ($313-$404) per ton and the balance 1 ton arrived from USA at a unit price of Rs 12,068 ($198).

In November, the entire material came from China at a price range of Rs 19,405 tons-Rs 24,921 tons ($313-$ 403) a ton.
