Sharp increase in Mar coking coal imports via Kandla m-o-m

April 6: Coking coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 69,544 tons in the month of March, sharp increase from 14,600 tons imported in February 2015, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of coking coal through the port during March 2014 stood at 24,480 tons.
For 2014-15, coking coal import through the port stood at 467,407 tons, up 43% from 326,852 tons imported in the previous fiscal.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Kandla port:

In March, the entire consignment came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,250-Rs 9,125($115-$145) per ton.
In February too, the entire consignment arrived from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,788 ($125)-Rs 8,830 ($141) per ton.
