April 07: A sharp rise in allotment of G9 grade coal (GCV ranging between 4,601-4,900 Kcal/kg) offered by two subsidiaries of CIL on the coaljunction e-auction platform was witnessed in March even as realised prices remain slightly soft.
A total of 4,64,080 tons of this grade of coal was offered in March of which 2,94,280 tons got allotted at weighted average price of Rs 2060 per ton.
In February 2015, a total of 2,40,000 tons of G9 grade coal was offered through coaljunction and 2,17,210 tons got allotted at weighted average price of Rs 2,101/ton.
However, G9 grade coal offered by two subsidiaries of CIL. on the coaljunction e-auction platform in January 2015 met with poor demand as only 26,400 tons of the offered quantity of 75,300 tons got allotted at weighted average price of Rs 2,483/ton.
