Singapore feeder service launched from Colombo to Krishnapatnam

February 13: Singapore-based Bengal Tiger Line (BTL) recently started a weekly feeder service from Colombo in Sri Lanka to Krishnapatnam Port Container Terminal (KPCT), with a port rotation of Colombo- KPCT–Chennai, said a release from the Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited.

The port management claimed that through the service, importers will be able to bring their cargos in shorter transit time to KPCT than to Chennai as the BTL service prioritises KPCT over Chennai.

"This will benefit import cargos like cashew from Africa, metal scrap for Middle East and US, timber from US, Canada, South America and Africa and raw materials for paper and chemical industries, etc.," the statement added.
