Singareni plans to levy additional 2% on coal royalty

December 4: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will levy an additional 2% on royalty charges on its coal prices with effect from January 12, 2016.

The additional charges will be levied as per the directive from the Director of Mines & Geology for contribution to the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) Fund, according to information available with ICMW.

The upward revision follows a reduction in fuel surcharge announced by the company in September 2015.

There is no change in the basic ROM prices of coal for power and non-power sectors.
