Singareni crosses 60-mt production mark in 2015-16

With a few days to go for the closure of financial year 2015-16, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has already achieved its revised production target of 60 million tons (mt), a company spokesperson told ICMW.

“We are already there. We will definitely cross 60 mt. With an average daily output of 170,000-180,000 tons, we are all set to comfortably exceed that milestone,” the official said.

With this, the company would clock a production growth of around 15% in 2015-16 over 52.54 mt achieved in 2014-15, he noted.

SCCL had initially set a production target of 56 mt for the current fiscal, but later on revised it upwards to 60 mt, inspired by the consistently high growth performance.

The miner, meanwhile, has also scaled up its 2020 production target from 75 mt to 85 mt, company Chairman-cum-Managing Director N Sridhar recently said.
