Singareni output, despatches both up in December

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has recorded a 12.99% jump in production to 5.74 million tons in December 2015, compared to 5.08 mt recorded for the same period last year, data released by the company shows.

The December production was also up 8.7% month-on-month, compared to 5.28 mt achieved in November 2015, the data shows.

For the first nine months of the current financial year (April-December), total production stood at 43.24 mt, which was higher by 22.74% over 35.23 mt achieved in the same period last year.

Coal production during April-December, 2015 was 108% of the target of 39.75 mt set for the period.

Total despatches in December were at 5.43 mt, a 14.56% jump over 4.74 mt reported for the same month last year.

Despatches during the first nine months of the current financial year (April-December) were at 43.53 mt, an increase of about 13.86% over 38.23 mt achieved in the same period last year.

Coal despatches during April-December, 2015 were 108% of the target of 40.27 mt set for the period under consideration.
