Singareni plans to deploy Longwall in 4 more blocks

Close on the heels of the successful deployment of Longwall technology at the Adriyala underground project, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has identified four blocks for deployment of the same, according to information available with ICMW.

The blocks identified are Shanti Khani LW/Mandamarri, KTK-5 LW Bhupalapalli, RK-7 & RKNT-Srirampur (Shortwall), and KTK-3 LW-Bhupalapalli project. Shanti Khani and RK-7 & RKNT projects are located in the Adilabad district while the other two are located in the Warangal district of Telengana.

Of these four blocks, KTK-3 is a proposed new project, while the others are working mines. The combined geological reserves of the blocks are about 539 million tons, while the total rated capacity is 4.52 million tons per annum.

SCCL has planned to opt for outsourcing for implementation of the Longwall technology in the aforesaid blocks.
