Singareni’s production up 20% y-o-y till January

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has scored over 20.6% growth in coal production during the first 10 months (April-January) of 2015-16 to 48.97 million tons (mt), compared to 40.58 mt achieved during the same period last year.
According to data released by the company, SCCL’s coal production increased by 7.10% in January to 5.73 mt, against 5.35 mt recorded for the same month last year.
The January production, however, was almost flat against the December output of 5.74 mt, the data showed. The yearly growth in January was also the lowest so far this year.
Nevertheless, total coal production till January was still 108% of the target of 45.05 mt set for the period under consideration.
SCCL’s despatch of coal during the first ten months (April-January) was also higher by 13.70% to 48.79 mt, compared to 42.91 mt achieved during the same period last year.
Despatches during the month of January stood at 5.24 mt, about 11.97% higher than 4.68 mt registered during the same period last year.
The January despatch, however, was lower than 5.45 mt achieved in December.
For the period April-January, total despatches were 107% of the target of 45.57 mt set for the period under consideration.
