Singareni synchronises first unit of Adilabad TPS

After a slight delay of three months, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has synchronised the first unit of its much-awaited 2x600 MW thermal power station (TPS) in the Adilabad district of Telengana in March, a company source told ICMW.

“The first unit was synchronised on March 13 and the second unit will be synchronised in April,” the source said.

“Full-fledged commercial production from the first unit will start by the end of April, while the same from the second unit will commence by the end of May,” he further said.

Once the two units commence operation, the miner would start the groundwork for a third unit of 600 MW, the source said.

As per the original plan, the TPS was expected to complete synchronisation of its first unit by December 2015 and the second unit by February 2016. Full-fledged commercial operations are scheduled to start by March 2016.
