Singareni to increase coal production

20 Jan 2015

With the Singareni Collieries Company Limited ((SCCL) lagging behind by about 4 million tonnes till date during this

financial year, SCCL chairman and managing director N Sridhar on Monday instructed all the officials to increase the daily coal production to achieve the target.

The C&MD, who was on a three-day tour of Karimnagar and Adilabad districts and inspected various open cast projects and ongoing thermal power station in Jaipur of Adilabad district, had a review meeting with all the directors, field and corporate general managers at the Ramagundam coal belt region in Karimnagar district.

Addressing the officials on the occasion, Mr Sridhar wanted the officials to ensure increase in the daily production from the existing 1.6 lakh tonnes to 2 lakh tonnes in entire Singareni region including 32 underground mines and 16 open cast projects. He said that the daily targets were allocated to each mine depending upon their potentials and project capacity.

Crucial role

Reiterating that Singareni Collieries had a crucial role in rebuilding Telangana State and participate in the mission of the State government to achieve 24X7 power supply to all sectors, he said that the Singareni should strive to increase its coal production and open up new mines wherever possible.

He said that they decided to increase coal production in the open cast projects of Bhupalapalli,, Godavarikhani and Ramakrishnapuram and also Adriyala Longwall project underground mine in Ramagundam.
