May 28: South African spot steam coal prices turned soft on May 27 amidst low enquiries and sufficient availability, market sources said.
Sources expect Indian demand for imported coal to rise in the coming days, especially after the monsoons, as the new government is likely to take some positive measures that might lead to higher generation of power and, consequently, increase in coal demand.
