September 11: A soft trend was witnessed in international coal markets on September 10 as prices remained largely unchanged over their previous levels on lack of major enquiries, industry sources said.
Meanwhile, leading brokerage firm Marex Spectron quoted bids and offers for 150,000 tons of RB1 coal for loading in October at a discount of $3.00 and $2.10 to API4 respectively basis 6000 Kcal/kg NAR.
However, coking coal prices firmed up further as negotiations on Q4 prices draws near that prompted miners to quote higher prices even as very few deals are actually materialising, they added.
